Rising damp is something a lot of Scottish homes have to deal with. It is a very common occurrence, but it is also a very dangerous thing. Scottish people accept it as the norm and put it down to the wet Scottish weather. Rising damp appears slowly, and that is one of the reasons people tend to accept it. It has been part of their lives for a number of years and for them, it is quite normal.
